February 2025 was a significant milestone for Supersonic, marking five years since we first launched as a publisher for mobile games. Since then, our games have achieved over 6.2 billion downloads worldwide (disclaimer: as of 27th January 2025) since launching in February 2020, averaging an impressive 190 million monthly active users between January and October 2024 (source: Appsflyer).
Hybrid-casual game success
2024 was an important year for Supersonic hybrid-casual games. Some of our noteworthy successes included:
Trash Tycoon (Funcell Games):
Funcell Games worked with Supersonic to turn Trash Tycoon, a hybrid-casual, idle simulation game, into a hit. Funcell had a clear vision for the content of the game, but updating the pressure points and in-game progression mechanics meant that their in-game economy required extensive rebalancing. To do this, they leaned on Supersonic’s expertise and resources. With these changes, the game monetized with an IAP split of 45%, achieved a D1 retention of 50%+, and a D7 APPU (Average Playtime Per User) of 167 minutes*.
Screw Master 3D (EOGames):
Chinese studio EOGAMES partnered with Supersonic on their pin puzzle hit game, Screw Master 3D. After testing, amending and optimizing the game together, they achieved Day 1 retention rate of around 45%, D30 retention rate of 15%, and an IAP revenue split reaching 18% on Android in the US*. EOGAMES and Supersonic from Unity are already working on their next project together.
Leading the world in downloads
We’re proud to continue to be a leader in mobile gaming, ranking as the fifth largest mobile games publisher globally by downloads in 2024 according to data.ai. As of February 2025, 3 of the top 10 most downloaded hyper-casual games worldwide are in the Supersonic portfolio**:
- Build a Queen (#2)
- Going Balls (#6)
- Bridge Race (#9)
